NCVOAD/NCIDR Long Term Recovery Organizational Meeting (post Irene)

We will hold our post Irene organization meeting in Washington, NC on Friday, September 9, 2011 from 1pm until 3pm at the First United Methodist Church, 304 West Second Street. The format will be similar to the last meeting in Greenville on May 6th. We invite as many national partners to attend as possible. Any prospective Long Term Recovery Organization leaders are also invited to attend. If your agency has contacts in the affected area, please extend this invitation. Hurricane Irene (FEMA-4019-DR-NC)

Thirty three counties have been designated for federal disaster assistance to help households and businesses recover from Hurricane Irene. Beaufort, Bertie, Brunswick, Camden, Carteret, Chowan, Craven, Currituck, Dare, Duplin, Edgecombe, Gates, Greene, Halifax, Hertford, Hyde, Johnston, Jones, Lenoir, Martin, Nash, New Hanover, Northampton, Onslow, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Pitt, Tyrrell, Vance, Warren, Washington and Wilson.
Individual Assistance for homeowners and renters can include grants to help pay for temporary rental assistance, home repairs and other serious disaster-related expenses not met by insurance or other assistance programs. Also, low-interest disaster loans from the Small Business Administration are available to cover residential and business losses not fully compensated by insurance.
